There aren't many fair deals around these days, but Black Bear Diner is one of those rare deals that remain. Good food at a fair price with professional yet personable service. Sit down service in the restaurant is cool with a waitstaff that ranges from Goth to Punk to just a L'il Crusty and still professional and personable (get over your biases). The restaurant feels like a lodge with the wood interior and ample bear carvings. Even the menu that doubles as "the local newspaper" is cute and campy. We've ordered the take out plenty and also pre-ordered holiday meals multiple times. Not a complaint to be had with the packaging or ample portion sizes. I don't know your mama so I can't say that the food is just like Mom used to make, but it's tasty and this is the restaurant Mom would choose on those nights she didn't want to cook but wanted the family to have a healthy and wholesome meal. 10 out of 10 do recommend.

Food - Good I ordered the chicken fried steak. Initial the food looks somewhat appealing. The portion size very good for the price. The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Nice crunchy texture on the outside. Nice juicy and meaty in the inside. Seasoned very well and it goes very well with the gravy. Not a huge fan of the hash brown. Little soggy and not seasoned. Not crunchy. Service - Good I felt welcomed right when I walk into the establishment. My server was very nice and I got my food pretty fast. Ambiance - Okay What you would expect at a family diner restaurant. Elderly drinking coffee , and familys with childrens

Went for dinner on a Saturday. We enjoy coming to this location, but have eaten at Black Bear Diners throughout CA, NV, and UT. Enjoy the Touchtones juke box, loaded up the Playlist with some of our favorites. Meals: Prime Rib dinner (meat was wonderful, once I trimmed the chunks of fat off); fettuccine with chicken (plentiful, creamy); chicken strips and fries (kids size, as expected); blackened salmon dinner (wonderful texture and flavor). But what impressed us the most tonight was our server, Linda. She was an absolute delight: attentive, prompt, patient with me, and had great recommendations (she is the one who pointed me to the Prime Rib, in contrast to the delicious cheeseburger basket). All in all a wonderful night out for a family dinner when we didn't feel like cooking at home.
